Hey guys
Ive been looking in to doing 'Nam Airsoft and i just have a few questions
I like the look of Tiger Stripe Camo, would this be ok to wear as a 'normal' Rifleman?
Ive just bought a CA M15A2 Tactical Carbine, would this be ok to use if i get the short VN style mags?
Ive been looking at numerous types of webbing ALICE, M56, M69. Is it ok to mix and match or should i just keep to one type and make a set of that?
Thanks for any help....

I've been wandering round the Web and found some kit
http://www.mooremili...om/packages.htm The First Package
Also found this for £80

Seems pretty good and not too pricey
Gonna hopefully start putting something together soon

Listen up Troop...
First welcome to the boonies. Lets get yourself squared away before your cherry ass gets blown away!
Tiger Stripe or any Camo uniform worn in the Nam was worn by Special Force's, MACV-SOG, LRRP's/LRP's?Rangers, Marine Force Recon & Navy Seals.
One unit that I know of was the Recon platoon of the 1/327 (Tiger Force) 101st Airborn Division did wear Tiger Stripes but again you are looking at Recon men.
Your standard run of the mil rifleman would wear the OD jungle fatiques and steep pot.
Obviously the M15a2 is the wrong gun for the period. The carbine of the time was the XM177 however as so meny people keep reminding my re-enactors soul its only airsoft and a game so there is nothing to say you can't use it. Its not as glaringly out of place as say an M4 with a RIS.
Webbing. Stick to M56 LCE if you can. You can mix and match with the M67 MLCE gear as well.
ALICE was post war. But again its only a game and not a re-enactment.
Moore Military is a very very good site to get your gear from. It will be right for the period for a start and is a shop that is very high on the Nam re-enactors list.
Also Trey Moore is a very knowlagable chap. I highly recomend them.

Could alwayd go as an aussie mate.
"If we do happen to make contact, I expect nothing less than gratuitous violence from the lot of ya. Because we're firing blanks doesn't mean we have to be thinking nice thoughts. So you remember, you keep the fire down, right, you get stuck in and you kick their fu**ing teeth out, or I guarantee you, Joe, they will be eating your bollocks for breakfast, sunshine"

A very good reference for US Nam gear is Vietnam Gear.com.
I`d also agree with the post above, an Aussie load is fairly cheap to put together compared to US kit especially if you`re not going to use it all the time. Brit lightweight trousers, gs shirt, mix of Brit `44, `58 and US M56 pattern webbing and an M16 would be reasonably easy to sort out, plus the Aussies used leather boots as well so you wouldn`t have to fork out for jungle boots. Try Fleabay for the clothing and `58, the modern canteen covers can pass for US `67 pattern as well.
