This sound decidely interesting Posted Image but would I be welcome as a slow moving (disabled) newbie? I've done 48hour LARP events before but not an Airsoft Filmsim.

I'm going to my first Airsoft skirmish tomorrow at Honiley and am feeling a little apprehensive right now as there is so little activity on the midlands forumsPosted Image

Numbers are looking awesome for this. you must remember guys, not everyone posts or even uses forums. Alot of the bookings for all the GMA game days comes via email, only the active users post up, plenty just look and get the info they need.

Hope this helps

and cant bloody wait;)

Having just done Saturday at Honiley (GREAT day!) Imediately followed by a Sunday skirmish at the Grange I'm thinking I may need someone to carry me rather than hold me up Posted Image Posted Image

Seriously I'll have to think hard about a 48 hour, unless there are any relatively fixed position roles I could fill?

Brian, don't worry about it.

There is NO pressure at all to do anything you are not capable of doing, if you need to chill out, just do so :) GMA games are run for the experience, the rule is that every-single-player (and marshall) goes home tired but happy!

As for the forums, Josh is right, what you see posted is the tip of the iceberg when it comes to people looking (lurking).

HUGE fun trying to keep up with that psycho bush Staceh (he doesn't need a support team, just a psychiatrist).

QUOTE
Military statistics have revealed that during the second world war it usually it took 25 000 shots to kill a soldier, the sniper needed an average of 1.3- the allies had every right to worry about the German snipers

Its not 48hr solid! Its like 10am-4pm Saturday, then 10am-4pm Sunday (at most, depending on how long it takes the hangovers to clear sunday morning)

Excellent thanks.
On the practical side I guess I'll need tent/sleeping bag/48 hours food and drink?
I'll almost certainly need hire kit & gun too. Any particular side looking for a recruit/target?
For sentimental reasons I will be aquiring an SLR at some point in the future, Posted Image but very unlikely by mid Sept Posted Image
(anyone recommend one btw?)
Sorry if I'm being thick here but I presume its sales@filmsim.co.uk for Paypal? not Paypalsales@..... yes?
